Statement Fulfillment for a Large Investment Firm

Challenge Customer needed to close down an internal print facility, while maintaining capacity in a secure outsource model with proper transparency, control, and technology advancements.

Solution Powerstream was used to integrate our post-processing controls with the firm's legacy Metacode file. We utilized cut sheet imagers and built a solution that properly organized and batched the over 1,200 retirement plans for various organizations, in a streamlined production workflow.


The effort went live on schedule and was considered a success on the initial 550,000 quarterly statements. The customer realized several benefits:

  • consolidation of vendor partners,
  • better utilization of the space that housed the production equipment,
  • redeployment of the workforce to core tasks, and
  • access to state of the art production technologies with a trusted long term partner.

Mortgage Company Supported with ADA/508 Solutions

Challenge After an acquisition, the Company was tasked with continuing to support their borrower's needs for a Braille statement.

Solution RRD worked with our accessibility partners to create a semi-automated processing model to create the Braille statements, which are produced by a trigger on the billing statement file. And, as borrower's needs change, we incorporated the ability to provide E-Text and Screen Reader solutions as required.

Results The Company is now ADA / 508 compliant, and able to provide the high level of customer service that they desired for both visual and hearing impaired customers.

Large Insurance Company Engages with Redesign

Challenge As part of an outsourcing project, the Customer wanted to redesign their policy packages to improve readability and support their new brand. They were also looking to improve upon customer service with automated processes that sped fulfillment of policyholder documents to clients while ensuring accuracy throughout the entire process.

Solution RRD recommended a strategic approach to the Customer challenges that would help them achieve all their corporate initiatives. This included a full redesign of the policy documents, automated process for creating customized individual policies, and presenting online viewing options for agents and customer service reps ... and a complete outsourcing of all previous in-house policy printing.

Results The Customer realized a 15% cost savings in their operating budget due to the closure of their in-house print center. Plus, the redesign of the policies provided the opportunity to replace previous manual tasks with an automated solution that includes householding to agents. This resulted in $100,000 component and postage cost savings, dramatically reduced turnaround times and an annual print savings of over $1.2 million by moving agents from print to PDF delivery.

Tax Compliance and Soft Proofing for a Large Midwestern Bank

Challenge The Bank needed a reliable partner with the expertise to produce compliance forms with little supervision, quality and security levels that met the bank's high standards, and the production capacity to service the bank's 1099 compliance business during the competitive month of January.

Solution Our BCS Compliance Team verified capacity to produce the work in January, and utilized our extensive knowledge of IRS forms and IRS/Tax Form Repoting to deliver a cost-effective solution to the Bank, while providing a high level of security, quality and peace of mind. All printing, imaging, mailing and distribution of Information Reporting documents for 1099s, 1098s, and 1042Ss were performed in a single, efficient process. As part of that process, the BCS team enabled "soft proofing" – a secured electronic proofing process that cuts time – so the Bank could test production, assure accuracy, and approve imaging position of data.

Results One sophisticated process produced one satisfied client … with production of 1.1 million pieces in 5 days with 100% mailing accuracy.
