Through these management systems, RR Donnelley shows our communities that we are a leader in protecting their environment.
The International Standards Organization (ISO) has developed an environmental management system, commonly referred to as "ISO14000." It is designed to provide a tool to allow a site to control the environmental impact of its activities, products or services, and to continually improve its environmental performance. As with the ISO 9000 system and the OHSAS18001 specification, this system is intended to provide the framework for continuous improvement.
Sites that pursue companies ISO 14001 are those that wish to:
- use a systems approach to reduce their consumption of energy and materials and to reduce the cost of waste management
- continuously improve environmental performance
- assure and demonstrate to others conformance to our EHS Policy
- have an independent third-party certify its management system
