Acute care for patients, critical security for the transaction
Introduction: APP Pharmaceuticals is a leading provider of injectable pharmaceuticals for use in acute care settings. APP selected RR Donnelley's Venue to manage the due diligence process during the company's acquisition by Fresenius Kabi Pharmaceuticals.
Challenge: The highly confidential nature of the transaction and the number of large parties involved demanded very sophisticated security protocols. APP Pharmaceuticals needed to make thousands of pages available to hundreds of users, while ensuring that the permission rights of each member of the working group were appropriate for each document.
Solution: Working with the RR Donnelley Project Manager, APP Pharmaceuticals was able to set security levels for each user accessing the Venue, varying permissions down to the document level. Some working group members had the ability to upload documents into the due diligence workspace, while others could only view a particular subfolder. The team from APP took advantage of Venue's extensive reporting capability on a daily basis, keeping track of every document accessed by each user of the working group.
Result:
"Over the course of our deal, our needs around document access and security were complex and frequently changing. We found Venue's user permission features to be both powerful and easy to use. The interface made it easy for us to control access to folders and documents very quickly, and if we didn't have time to manage them ourselves, our RR Donnelley Project Manager took care of it for us. The service we received from the Venue team was beyond anything I've seen from other VDR providers."
