The Internet has changed the way everyone does business, including Nielsen. The World Wide Web has enabled us to interact with our customers around the world in a fast and efficient manner. One of the challenges we face as a diversified company is that no two of our customer's needs are alike. Our task? Develop a platform flexible enough to meet our customers' diverse needs without having to manage and maintain multiple applications and sites.
NielsenNet2 is our answer to these needs. NielsenNet2 can be accessed from any computer in the world connected to the Internet. A customer browsing the NielsenNet2 site will be prompted for a user name and password. Upon successful login, they are presented with their customized desktop. This desktop can include messaging for communication with their Nielsen Account Service Rep (ASR), order entry for their specific needs, job tracking information, links to user documentation, and more.
Once an order has been placed, the job appears on the user's desktop as an active job. It also appears on the desktop of their ASR, who puts the job in process at Nielsen. If a proof is required, the ASR can post a PDF proof to the job, or send out a traditional proof and notify the customer through NielsenNet2 that a proof has been shipped. The status of the job is always available on the desktop, and the customer will be notified via email that a job status has been updated, if they so choose.
- NielsenNet2 gives users an organized way to enter and track jobs, minimizing the use of time consuming menus and customizing to layout preferences.
- The messaging component allows the client the ability to send messages independent of Internet e-mail, eliminating the risk of messages being lost.
- When a job is entered, it can be tracked by the customer in stages: Pending, In Process, Proof Ready, Proof Approved, and Job Complete. Job status appears along with job number and job description.
