This customer, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN is the 7th largest pharmaceutical company in the world with over 60,000 employees in over 150 countries. They are the world leader in diagnostics with products such as a Medical Device that tests patients with diabetes.
How to create a professional, consistent and efficient (in time and dollars) marketing plan, while at the same time offering their sales the flexibility and timeliness they the need? One of the main goals for the marketing communications department for the Applied Science division is to support its sales force of 45 with tools to enable them to meet and exceed their sales goals. Because the sales representatives needed literature quickly and in most cases personalized to their accounts, they would create collateral on their own and have it produced at a local quickprint store. This opened the door for unprofessional, inconsistent and costly marketing collateral.
Nielsen developed a web site that is accessible to the Applied Science sales representatives and allows them to create and manage their marketing promotions to their customers. The sales representative can choose from up to seven preprinted flyers and three preprinted posters, a variety of marketing promotions and a variable field to personalize their literature. The personalized literature is then shipped within 48 hours to either the sales representative or directly to the customer.
