High Resolution PDF files are the preferred file format. Please reference our PDF Submission Guide for information and helpful techniques for creating PDF files.
We also support all major design applications in both Macintosh and PC format. Please follow the ten basic steps for producing quality artwork listed below.
- Always send printer and screen fonts.
- Do not stylize your fonts in the application, use the actual font. (i.e. Helvetica Bold)
- Supplied scans should be at least 2x the screen ruling. (175lpi x 2 = 350dpi)
- Do not enlarge placed images mor than 10 percent or rotate more than 10 degrees.
- All support images need to be supplied with the job, even if they are embedded.
- Save your images in common printable format. (CMKY EPS or TIFF files)
- Add 1/8th inch bleed to the document.
- Build your document to trim size.
- Make sure colors are named and created consistently between drawing program and page layout programs.
- Make sure spot and process colors are correctly allocated in the design application.
