File Transfer

At RR Donnelley’s Moran Plant, we want to be sure that your jobs’ files can be easily transferred to us and arrive here in good condition. To that end we have set up a few different ways for you to get files to us. Besides Compact Discs or DVDs, we can accept files via email (to your Salesperson or Customer Service Professional), if the file size is 6 megabytes or less. We have also set up an FTP site as well as an InSite portal for your convenience. Before sending any files, please use the following as a guide to assure the issues with files are kept to minimum.

Before transferring files via our FTP or Generic InSite portal:

Please Stuff or Zip your files to assure they remain in good condition. A PDF does not generally need to be stuffed or zipped. If your files use MAC fonts they should not be zipped as it tends to corrupt them. The built-in .zip function available on MAC OS X should not be used, instead please go to http://www.aladdinsys.com for the Suffit software. If on PC, please go to http://www.winzip.com for the WinZip software.
Please keep names of files to no more than 30 characters as long names can cause files to be corrupt.
Your file names should be made up of letters and numbers and no spaces or special characters.
If the files you’re sending are native files, be sure to include all needed fonts, links, etc. that will be needed. If you’re sending PDF’s, be sure they have been saved as high resolution with bleeds (if needed), and fonts embedded (do not subset fonts).
Note the name of your file and email your Salesperson and/or Customer Service professional the file name.

FTP Users:

For clients sending files via FTP, please use an FTP client software such as Fetch (Mac)—available from http://www.fetchsoftworks.com or LeechFTP (PC)—available from http://www.download.com. This allows the customer to "log on" to our site and select files to send and/or receive.

FTP Site Log In Information:

HOST = ftp.rrd.com
USERID = 27-moran-AC
PASSWORD = rrd,070405

Once you’ve logged in to the FTP site and you are sending files to us, go to the "IN" folder and drag your files into it. If you are retrieving files from us go to the "OUT" folder. Any problems, call Roger Sago at 407.859.2030 from 8 am to 5 pm eastern M – F.

InSite Users:

To transfer files via our generic InSIte portal, launch your web browser, Internet Explorer – PC or Safari – MAC, copy and paste this link into your url: http://insite2.comprint.rrd.com

Generic InSite Log In Information:
Username = GenericUser
Password = moran123!

After you’ve successfully gotten into the portal, follow these instructions to transfer files:

Click on Miscellaneous File Transfer. This will take you to the next window named: Job Home, go down to File Transfer tab and click on New Upload…
Drag your files into the Files To Upload window and click on the Upload button at the bottom. (Add a comment in the comment window if you’d like, this is not necessary.)
Now if you check back in the File Transfer window you’ll see number of uploads has increased by the number of files you’ve just uploaded.
