Part One: Concept to Prototype
Once you have provided the rough dimensional information for your packaging concept, our packaging designers get the process started with a series of drawn and cut prototypes that will enable you to fine-tune that model for final production. We will produce a drawn, scored and cut production prototype on the actual substrate of your choosing. Once that model is reviewed and finalized, you are provided with a final digital die line file for artwork preparation. This pro-active product development stage is the critical first step in packaging production at Litho Industries - RR Donnelley.

Part Two: Perfect Ink
Due to a substantial commitment of investment (more than $3.5MM in the past two years), our state-of-the-art pressroom equipment has some of the latest press technology available from Man Roland. Our new Man Roland 700, six-color, tower coater press boasts average running speeds exceeding 12,000 impressions per hour and has a maximum speed of 15,000/ hr. These new presses come CIP 3 compliant and will eventually have a digital interface to network through the entire production process (prepress through bindery.)

Part Three: Perfect Punch
Our IBERICA JRK 105 is also the latest in diecut/blanking and stripping capability. Designed to handle a variety of paperboard and synthetics, our device can strip and blank paperboard product with the greatest of efficiency. Fully automated for waste removal, the productivity of the IBERICA JRK 105 is potentially quadruple that of a conventional diecutter device.
The printed sheet is first fed into the die press to be cut, scored and/or perforated. The sheet then travels into the stripping unit to remove any waste within the confines of the final product. From there, the sheet goes into the blanking section where final product is blanked out of the skeleton of the sheet, as the final product is neatly delivered to a pallet. This diecut/strip and blank process can run at an impressive 6000 impressions per hour (maximum speed of 8500/hour cut and score).

Part Four: Accurate Conversion
The final stage of the Litho Industries fine print packaging workflow is our most recent capital investment and acquisition, the Heidelberg Diana Pro 74 folding carton gluer. This 90-foot-long device is capable of high speed folding and precision gluing, at production run speeds of 125,000 pieces of finished product per hour.
Pocket folders, auto bottom boxes, straight-line cartons, lock bottom boxes, trays, and four corner/six-corner boxes are all standard items of production for this device. With the addition of a Multi feeder, we are capable of tipping (and/or inserting) in-line, with a folded and glued product. In-line barcode scanning at multiple points read UPC, EAN, I205 and other one- and two-dimensional codes.
The Diana Pro 74 is also equipped with a product glue detection and rejection device, as well as a pre-break section to fold and open scores, enabling a flat (folded and glued) delivered product. This machine is ideal for long run folded-glued production for your packaging needs.
The Diana Pro lends itself to a virtually unlimited range of applications:

- Straightline cartons
- Miniature cartons
- Conical folding cartons
- Lockbottom cartons with and without prefolding creaselines
- Double-wall cartons with single and double folding
- Partition cartons
- Record sleeves
- Envelopes
- CD covers
- 4 and 6 corner collapsible boxes
- Many other specialty cartons
