Lenticular Hologram Azuna |
|
The other day my sister was introducing me to one of her friends and she said this:
"This is Alex. She's a holographic project manager." What?!?
After the sidelong glare equivalent of a kick in the shin, (and the subsequent explanation of what I REALLY do), I started thinking to myself, "there really ARE tons of different types of "3D" Printing techniques, and it IS kind of confusing".
Let's clear the air on what they all are (you'd better be reading sis!):
- Lenticular - Litho 3D & Motion printing, by far the most common and versatile medium. See it on DVD Covers, Direct Mail, Books, etc...
- Holograms - An engraved silver foil that only shows 3d or motion when light is directed at it just right. You'll see this on credit cards (I bet you're looking at yours now!) and your NFL tickets for security.
- Anaglyphs - Left Eye/Right Eye stereoscopic views used with the paper glasses for mass media (such as the SuperBowl commercials)
- Agamographs - Just found out about this today. Named after a kinetic artist, uses glass lenses. Collectors items on eBay.
I'm sure I'm missing a bunch, feel free to add to my list by commenting! And special note, we do Azuna and Lenticular only. =) If you want samples, I'd be happy to send some your way!
